In the late-1940s, Alfred Shaheen established Surf 'n Sand Hand Prints, his first print plant, in a Quonset hut on the outskirts of Honolulu. By the early-1950s, Shaheen was printing more than 60,000 yards of fabric per month and producing his Surf 'n Sand sportswear, which is one of the most sought-after vintage labels today. |
